SugarCRM Announces Updates to Sugar Pro
SugarCRM recently announced that it’s moving Sugar Professional to SugarCloud on Sept. 1, 2020. From this point forward, Sugar Pro will only be available as a cloud offering and all new customer sales of Sugar Professional for on-premise deployment will cease worldwide.
Why the change?
All Sugar Professional customers will have the latest product fixes and enhancements. By focusing on cloud products, Sugar Pro customers will have:
- better and more reliable service
- fast and seamless product upgrades
- access to the all latest innovations.
This was not a shift that SugarCRM took lightly. They took a look at their data which determined that cloud customers have significantly higher satisfaction with their products than on-premise customers. This change is very good for customers.
What does this mean for all the existing Pro customers currently on-premise?
Nothing, unless they want it to. Pro customers currently on-premise can choose to remain on, add seats, receive support and updates and renew their subscriptions to Pro on-premise.
However, it’s important to note that on-premise Pro customers can see significant benefits from moving to a SugarCloud product, which includes reduced IT costs, immediate access to the latest features and bug fixes, ubiquitous access and enterprise class security and operations.
