Options for Accessing Sugar From a Mobile Device

One of the many cool things about using Sugar is that you’ve got some great options for accessing your CRM from a mobile device. The four options to access Sugar from a mobile device are:

  1. The SugarCRM Mobile app
  2. Via a mobile browser
  3. The Sugar Mobile legacy app
  4. The Sugar Mobile Plus legacy app

 


SugarCRM Mobile

The SugarCRM Mobile application is included for all Sugar editions and is compatible with Sugar version 6.7.1 and above. It allows users to access the SugarCRM instance from iPhone and Android devices, as well as from android tablets and iPads. SugarCRM Mobile also offers offline capabilities.

Mobile Browser

You have the ability to access Sugar through the browser on any mobile device. To access your Sugar instance, enter in your URL (e.g. https://myinstance.sugarondemand.com) in the mobile browser.

Sugar Mobile

Sugar Mobile is a legacy mobile application that works on iPhone, iPad (Compatibility mode), and Android devices to access commercial editions of Sugar running versions 6.5 to 6.7.1. Please note that you must be connected to the internet (i.e. Wi-Fi) or your phone’s network in order to access the mobile application.

Sugar Mobile Plus

Sugar Mobile Plus is a legacy mobile application that works on iPhone, iPad, and Blackberry devices to access commercial editions of Sugar running versions 6.5 to 6.7.7. Sugar Mobile Plus is included with Sugar Corporate, Enterprise, and Ultimate and can be added to your Sugar Professional subscription. One of the biggest benefits of Sugar Mobile Plus is the offline sync capability, which allows users to quickly and easily access their Sugar data on the road.

Configuring Mobile

Administrators in Sugar can edit the mobile edit view, detail view, list view, and search layouts via Admin > Studio. Administrators can also enable/disable modules for the mobile applications, as well as enable offline capabilities for SugarCRM Mobile, in Admin > Mobile.
